Swine ‘Flu – basic precautions

  • Don’t come to church if you are ill
  • Please let the church know if you are ill
  • Wash your hands as you enter the church
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue and throw it away
  • Hand gel, tissues and bins are available at each entrance to the church, at the welcome desk and in the vestry
  • Until further notice, Holy Communion will be in one kind, following the advice of the Archbishops and of Bishop Mike

 

Christmas Cards: with seasonal views of St Mary Redcliffe are available in the Shop at £3.95/pack of 10 in aid of BRACE (Research into Alzheimer’s).

 

 

 

 

 

Hansel and Gretel: Alan Roberts has tickets for the pantomine at the Bristol Old Vic on 29th December. They cost £20 adults, £15 childre. Please see Alan and Wendy in church or email alan.roberts@stmaryredcliffe .co.uk.

The Giant Christmas Card will be on the table at the back of the Nave from this Sunday. Please sign the card and make a meaningful donation to St Peter’s Hospice.

Blessing of the Christmas Tree: All are invited to come and take part in a short ceremony to bless the Christmas tree on Tues 15 th Dec at 3.30pm.  Gather by the tree in the South Churchyard. There will be refreshments in church afterwards.  A fun occasion to mark our Christmas festivities.

Handel’s Messiah: Bristol Choral Society is singing the Messiah on Sat, 19 th Dec at 7.30pm at the Colston Hall with a Chamber Orchestra and Professional Soloists. Tickets £9-£21. Queries to Barbara Llewellyn on 962 4991. Recommended by Canon Michael Vooght.

Christingles: We need a small group of people to make the Christingles on 23 rd Dec, 2-4pm in Church. If you can help, please contact Denise Reynolds in church or on 01275 543890 – first come, first served.

Christmas Morning Nativity Play: Anyone wanting to be involved in this, please bring a costume and arrive at Church at 10am on Christmas Day.

Bible Reading Fellowship meets next on Tuesday 15 th Dec at 10.30am (Coffee at 10.15) at Dr White’s. The subject is the Second Book of Kings (continued). It will be followed by Communion and lunch. The leader will be Maurice Scofield.All enquiries to Mauriceon 926 4931.
